1. Introduction

Welcome to Unforgetful app ("Unforgetful" or "the app", "we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle, collect, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. By using our app, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. Information We Collect and How We Use It

A. Voluntary Account & Payment Information

By default, we do not require you to create an account or provide personal details (such as your name, email address, or phone number) to use the app. However, if you choose to upgrade for premium features, or sync data across devices, you are required to sign up for an account and thereby upgrade to Ultra or Unlimited membership, which allows you to take multiple or unlimited number of photos or recordings to set up timer and other alerts, and/or streamline your calendar management across personal and professional streams. You may also choose to connect the app with your Apple, Google, or Outlook calendars for a unified view on all your events and commitments in one place (e.g. if you need to connect to Apple calendar, you'd need to create an app-specific password on your Apple Account).

B. App-Specific & Local Data

  • Calendar Data: Any calendars you connect to the app are accessed and processed only on your device(s) when signed in. We do not store your data on our servers. 

C. Device Permissions and Hardware Access

To deliver core app functionality, we may request permission to access certain hardware features on your device:

  • Microphone & Voice Recognition: Used strictly to power interactive features, such as voice-enabled commands features, for example to record a quick timer to remind you/loved ones about a screen break. Audio data is processed locally and is not recorded or stored anywhere.
  • Camera: Used strictly if required by specific features (e.g., scanning a flyer or printout to extract calendar events).

3. Data Storage, Processing, and Third-Party Services

  • No Data Selling: We do not, and will never, sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.
  • Service Providers: We only share anonymized or necessary infrastructure data with trusted third-party service providers (such as authentication database services) strictly required to verify your identity when logging in across devices. 

4. Your Rights and Data Deletion

  • Local Data: If you use Unforgetful without creating an account, all app data resides strictly on your local device. You can delete this data at any time by clearing your app storage or uninstalling the app.
  • Registered Accounts: If you create an account to upgrade your tier or sync data across devices, you have the right to request the deletion of your account and any associated personal data at any time. You can initiate account deletion directly within the app settings. Once requested, your account profile and authentication records will be permanently erased from our databases.

5. Children's Privacy

Our app is intended for a general audience. We do not collect, maintain, or request personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of majority in your jurisdiction). If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, we will take immediate steps to delete that data from our records.

6. Subscriptions & Payment Processing

Unforgetful offers auto-renewable subscription tiers (Ultra and Unlimited).

  • In-App Purchases: Payments are processed securely by Apple via your Apple ID account. We do not store or collect your payment card details on our servers.
  • Management & Cancellation: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your iOS device settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions) or via Apple's online subscription management portal.
  • Terms of Use: Usage of our application and subscription services is governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA).
